Youth Football

The Club's primary contact point for enquiries relating to Youth is the Youth Coordinator -

The Youth Competition in Southern Tasmania is run by Football Federation Tasmania (FFT).  The competition has a more competitive nature than the Junior competition and a different competition structure.  Girls and Boys teams have different rosters.

In addition to the normal season league competition, FFT offers a Knockout Competition ('Youth Cup') in the same age groups that youth teams play roster competitions in (for both boys and girls).

Youth Ages

Players who are under 18 years of age at the start of the calendar year for the season are eligible for the Youth competition.  Each year KLUFC tries to nominate as many Youth teams as possible.

The Club's objective is to have teams playing in the FFT Southern Youth Premiership Division.   If an age group has sufficient numbers, the Club assembles additional teams based on player assessments.

First Division teams are formed from players that commit to their development through the Club's Youth Academy.  Youth Academy players that do not want to play division one or are not selected in these Youth Academy teams compete in the other club teams on weekends.

All players within the squad will be under constant evaluation, during squad training sessions and games.
