    <content:encoded xmlns:content="http://purl.org/rss/1.0/modules/content/"><![CDATA[<p style="text-align: justify; ">Registrations for male and female youth and senior players are open at Kingborough Lions United Football Club for 2020 - Don't miss out on a fun year of football - registrations will be closing late March so don't miss out !</p>
<p style="text-align: justify; ">Players must be registered before they can play in competitions.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify; ">New players who have not previously registered with any club or school and are registering with KLUFC, will be required to provide proof of age/identification (i.e. photocopy of players birth certificate). This can be brought along to your first pre-season training session.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify; ">Registration fees are used to provide club membership, end of season trophies, ground rent, players and coaches insurance, playing strips, training equipment and associated administrative expenses, plus Football Federation Tasmania’s expenses including team nomination and referee fees.</p>
<h3 style="text-align: center; ">To Register</h3>
<p>Registration is a two part process in 2020.</p>
<p><strong> Part one</strong> - First you need to register with <a class="external-link" href="https://www.playfootball.com.au/">playfootball.com.au</a></p>
<p><strong> Part two</strong> - Fill out registration on the <a class="external-link" href="https://cloud.klufc.org.au/index.php?route=product/category&path=64">Club's Online Store</a>, <i>make sure FFT number is filled out</i> then purchase registration.</p>
<p>If you are turning 18 or younger this year but playing senior football, you should complete a Youth registration on this site.</p>

While they were in the town of Alotau they visited Gopaia Village and presented the village children with one of the Club's retired Junior strips.</description>

She is delighted to win an accolade of such significance, but "feels she is lucky to represent all KLUFC's young coaches".</p>
<p>Emelia has been recognised for her outstanding commitment and leadership to young women through sport. As one of Kingborough’s youngest coaches, she encourages junior female soccer players to believe that they can be their best, and through teamwork, can achieve great things. Her supportive and positive leadership style reinforces this ambition, on and off the field.</p>
<p>Emelia said, “It is very rewarding to see the girls’ progress. We have a lot of fun along the way and enjoy building the team together. I want to keep coaching as long as I can. All the coaches are good here and it is great to be part of the team.”</p>

    <description>The Kingborough Lions United Football Club is excited to announce the signing of Zoë Horgan for the 2019 Womens Super League Season.</description>

<p class="p1">Zoë has come to the Lions from Taroona FC, where she won the club’s 2018 Best and Fairest.</p>
<p class="p1">Zoë has been committed to State programs since 2012, captaining the state girls in 2014 and being part of the NTC team that won the Southern Championship in 2015. In 2016 she followed on with a season with the Olympia FC Warriors, winning both the Southern Championship and Super League titles.<span> </span>In 2017 Zoë captained the NTC Tasmanian team and played for Taroona in the WSL for two seasons.</p>
<p class="callout">“I really like the vision the club has for where they are working to get to with the junior programs and mens/women’s teams”, Zoë said, “I feel supported in my personal development, with the Club providing opportunities for me to push myself with daily training with the WSL and also Men’s programs each week. I can't wait to give my all with the super league squad and I'm excited to take on the hard work to come …”</p>

<p class="callout"><span> </span>“It is exciting to have a player of Zoë’s calibre and energy join our young squad. She has already had a positive impact in pre-season preparations.”, said WSL Head Coach Simon Edwards, “She will play a big role in our midfield lineup this season and mentoring other players at the Club.<span> </span>We will be working closely with Zoë to ensure she is challenged and to ensure her football ambitions have every chance of success in years to come.”<span> </span></p>

<p class="p1">The Kingborough Lions United Football Club is thrilled to announce Hanna Manuela has returned to the Club and will play a big part in the Lions 2019 Womens Super League campaign.</p>
<p class="p1">Hanna started her football journey at Blackmans Bay Devils in 1999 then played her Junior football with the Lions, being selected for the Tasmanian State team in 2004.<span> </span>A move to South Hobart FC then saw Hanna play 5 seasons during which she represented Tasmania again.<span> </span>In her last year at South she won the Best&amp; Fairest and Players Player at the club and was the 2009 Vic Tuting winner. Hanna also refereed from 2003 to 2011, going to Coffs as a State representative in 2006 and was an AR in the 2010 A-League match between Melbourne Victory and the Central Coast Mariners at Aurora Stadium.</p>
<p class="p1">In 2010 Hanna moved to Taroona FC where she served the club for 9 years.<span> </span>During this time she represented Tasmania on numerous occasions.</p>
<p class="callout">“I am committed to a high standard of football and training ”, <i>Hanna said,</i> “and want to be working with committed footballers in an environment that supports female footballers (the same way the men are supported) … an environment which the Lions will provide. ”</p>

    <content:encoded xmlns:content="http://purl.org/rss/1.0/modules/content/"><![CDATA[<p style="text-align: justify; ">Registrations for male and female youth and senior players are open at Kingborough Lions United Football Club for 2019 - Don't miss out on a fun year of football - registrations will be closing late March so don't miss out !</p>
<p style="text-align: justify; ">Players must be registered before they can commence training or play in competitions.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify; ">New players who have not previously registered with any club or school and are registering with KLUFC, will be required to provide proof of age/identification (i.e. photocopy of players birth certificate). This can be brought along to your first pre-season training session.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify; ">Registration fees are used to provide club membership, end of season trophies, ground rent, players and coaches insurance, playing strips, training equipment and associated administrative expenses, plus Football Federation Tasmania’s expenses including team nomination and referee fees.</p>
<p>The registration process is done thought the <a class="external-link" href="https://cloud.klufc.org.au/index.php?route=product/category&path=64" target="_blank" title="KLUFC Online Store">Club's Online Store</a>.</p>

<p>Clinics will be held on Wed 23rd, Thu 24th, Fri 25th, Mon 30th and Thu 31st of January.</p>
<p><span style="text-align: center; ">Hone your skills at our fun holiday clinics - </span>You do not have to play for Kingborough Lions United FC to be involved !!</p>
<p>These clinics are focussed on having fun whilst developing football skills - overseen by accredited coaches and Lions NPL/WSL players -  these sessions will provide some much needed football activity over the break.  Sessions will incorporate four core skills of First Touch, Striking the Ball, One v One and Running with the Ball and games games games.</p>

    <title>Kingborough Lions United FC appoints Ben Horgan as full time Academy Manager</title>

    <description>The Kingborough Lions United Football Club is excited to announce Ben Horgan will be commencing in the full time role of Academy manager in January 2019.</description>

<p class="p1">Ben will be the Club’s first full time employee and will be responsible for the day to day operations of Kingborough Lions United FC’s community, junior, youth, SAP and school football programs, including talented player identification and development.</p>
<p class="p1">In the role of Academy Manager, Ben will also coordinate new football programs throughout Kingborough, Huon and Channel schools and communities. These programs will ensure large engagement participation of youth and junior players in the region as well as utilisation of the Club’s facilities during weekdays.<span> </span>These new programs will provide coaches with full-time support whilst helping develop the NPL and WSL players of the future.<span> </span>Ben will also be responsible for ensuring regular coach development programs are delivered.</p>
<p class="p1">Ben has been employed by Football Federation Tasmania in various roles since 2013, most recently as the ALDI MiniRoos and Junior/Community Football Development Manager, as well as coaching state teams and talented player programs. Ben’s interests lie in player and coach development, a factor that attracted him to the role at Kingborough.</p>
<p class="callout">“The club is making a serious investment in junior and youth development, they have some of the best facilities in the state with further plans for development at Lightwood Park. It is a growing region with huge potential so I’m excited to be a part of it. The club aims to deliver the highest quality player development programs in the state and I’ll be working hard with coaches to support players throughout the Kingborough region to achieve their full potential and reach their goals in football” <i>Horgan said.</i></p>
<p class="p2"> </p>
<p class="p1">Ben has coached a number of boys and girls state teams over the past 6 years at the FFA National Youth Championships, in the under 13, 14 and 15 age groups, has assisted at the NTC Challenge as well as coaching in FFT’s Talented Player programs.<span> </span>He has also worked in Community Coach Education as a course presenter on the MiniRoos, Skill Training and Game Training Certificates. Ben is undergoing training to become an accredited AFC C Licence presenter.</p>
<p class="p2"> </p>
<p class="callout">“This full time appointment demonstrates the club’s commitment to the development of football in the region”, <i>KLUFC Technical Director, Simon Edwards said<span> </span></i>“I am looking forward to working with Ben to improve and grow our programs to take them to the next level.<span> </span>His enthusiasm, professionalism and desire to improve others, coupled with a full-time focus will be a game changer.”<span> </span></p>
