The senior arm of the Kingborough Lions United Football Club caters for both male and female players. The Club strives to have teams playing in the highest possible competitions in Southern Tasmania while recognising the need to cater for players who wish to participate at a “social level”. The competitions are under the umbrella of Football Federation Tasmania and all competitions are run in accordance with FIFA Regulations. The Kingborough Lions United Football Club are leading the way in injury prevention in Tasmanian football (soccer). The club recently hosted Rob Aitken from Sports Medicine Australia to conduct the two-day Level 1 Sports Trainer course at their club rooms in Kingston. The course covers the prevention and management of injuries in sport as well as sports nutrition, drugs in sport and taping techniques.
Kingborough Lions United FC is pleased to announce assessments are commencing for athletes looking to be part of the Youth Academy program in season 2017. The club's Academy teams will be representing the club at the highest level of each youth competition and the selection trials will enable Coaching Staff to assess players.
This year's Kingborough Lions United Football Club dinner was held at the Royal Hobart Yacht Club on Saturday 24th September 2016. The Club is thrilled that three of its Youth Academy players, Toby Herweynen, Simon Vivarelli and Dominic Easton, have been selected in the State u15 team. The team will go to Canberra in December to participate in the NDC Challenge, a talent identification tournament run by Football Federation Australia.
The club was excited to see two of its Youth Academy players selected for the Football Federation Tasmania teams for the KLUFC FFA National Youth Championships in Coffs Harbour. Well done Tate and James keep up the good work !!
