The senior arm of the Kingborough Lions United Football Club caters for both male and female players. The Club strives to have teams playing in the highest possible competitions in Southern Tasmania while recognising the need to cater for players who wish to participate at a “social level”. The competitions are under the umbrella of Football Federation Tasmania and all competitions are run in accordance with FIFA Regulations. The FREE Come and Try day sessions are fun and allow players who have never experienced the game to be introduced to football in a fun and welcoming environment. We will also be answering any registration queries for the 2017 season as REGISTRATIONS ARE NOW OPEN ... Kingborough Lions United Football Club will be conducting a Game Training Certificate course over two Sundays, Feb 26th & Mar 5th. KLUFC coaches working with players U13 and older are encouraged to encourage to attend for the benefit of their coaching development and the benefit to all players you are engaged in. This is a great chance to complete this community coaching course before the start of season 2017.
This Junior Academy program (previously known as ‘SAP’) gives young players the opportunity to improve their football skills and technique in a fun football focussed environment. Run by NPL Club Kingborough Lions United FC, coached by FFA accredited coaches, the program is designed to instill a love of football and accelerate the skill development of junior boys and girls, using the FFA National Curriculum as a basis. Open to players from Southern schools & clubs.The club is excited to have some new experienced coaches from our NPL and WNPL programs coming into Cycle 1. This cycle includes participation in the Hobart Cup (29/30 April) which replaces previous Cycle 1 SAP Festivals.
The 2017 season kicks off for youth players next week with two fun afternoons of football. The club is running grading and information sessions Tuesday 7th Feb and Thursday 9th of Feb 4:30-6:30 pm at Lightwood Park. These sessions will include training/games for boys and girls (born 199-2004) followed by an information session in the clubrooms at Lightwood Park, Kingston 6:15-6:30 pm.
